Woman handcuffed and escorted off public beach by police over her bikini choice
It's a different day and age we're living in these days. That's for certain.

As thong bikinis become more and more common, the debate on whether or not they’re acceptable in public grows hotter.

One beach-goer found herself in the middle of that debate when she landed in handcuffs for wearing what many women wear all around the world.

They actually cuffed her.

Any time you go to the beach these days, you can almost guarantee to see some woman wearing thong-style bikinis, but you almost never see them being arrested for it.

Until now, that is.

The age of social media has ushered in many new styles, dances, and fads.

One of those styles that have blown up with the help of Instagram is wearing a thong bikini, and now they’re everywhere.

Some people aren’t happy about it.

Especially those with small children. Sam Panda, a professional acrobat, learned this first-hand, and it almost cost her a ride to the big house.

Panda was enjoying a day in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina when another beach-goer complained about her thong being too revealing.

Panda had no idea what was going on when police approached her, but soon learned that another lady at the beach had reported her for “nudity” when she saw her and a friend in thong bikinis.

Her attitude didn’t help the situation.

According to the MBPD, Panda was detained in handcuffs for the way she was acting rather than the thong bikini.

The professional aerialist allegedly walked away from the cops when they approached, which was supposedly the reason she ended up in handcuffs, while her friend (who was also in a thong bikini) did not.

“Some Karen decided that my body was offensive to her.”

In an interview with Inside Edition, Panda described the complainant as a ‘Karen’ who’s offended by her body.

The law disagrees.

In all actuality, it is illegal to show your buttocks in Myrtle Beach, as it is a form of nudity.

Panda did not know this, and asked the officers to read her the specific ordinance which reads:

“It shall be unlawful for any person to intentionally appear in any public place in such a state of dress or undress so as to expose to the view of others the human male or female genitals, pubic area, pubic hair, buttocks, anus, vulva or any portion of the female breast at or below the areola thereof.”

Fortunately, the police officers didn’t take Panda to jail over the thong bikini. Eventually, they uncuffed her, letting her go on her way.

When asked if she would wear the thong bikini in public again, Panda gave an unapologetic yes without a second thought.

If yes, you probably saw the viral video a few years back when the aerialist had a stunt go wrong and almost fell to her death.

Viral for the wrong reasons

This time, it wasn’t her near-death experience that had her in the limelight, but a piece of cloth that apparently showed off just a little too much skin.
